From Adana to the world, now closer to the US
Beta Food Industry and Trade Inc. was founded as a small company in Adana in 1978. The first years of activity were devoted to trade in non-food products. Over time, the company expanded its scope of business to the food industry and started branding operations. Beta Food was the first to import tea to Turkey, introducing local consumers to new flavours.
The economic crisis in 1994 affected the whole country, including Beta Food, and the search for foreign markets became necessary. The company managed to seize opportunities in the countries that broke away from the Soviet Union in the early 1990s and entered this market. Beta Food was the first private entity to bring tea to the former Soviet republics.
Today, Beta Food has a strong presence in countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Iraq. Initiatives in the US, Middle East, and Eastern European markets continue.
