Herbal teas are infusions made from botanicals such as leaves, flowers, seeds, fruits, and herbs. They offer aroma, color, and comfort without needing to follow black tea rules.
Because herbal blends are not always made from the tea plant, they often need a fuller steep to release their flavor. Patience gives the cup more character.
Give botanicals time
Most herbal teas taste better with a 5-7 minute steep. This allows herbs and fruit pieces to open fully and gives the cup more aroma.
Choose by mood
Mint lemon feels bright and refreshing. Sage feels earthy and expressive. Fennel feels gently sweet. Chamomile and linden lean calm and soft.
Keep it simple
Use one tea bag per 8 oz cup, freshly boiled water, and a covered mug. Taste before sweetening so you understand the blend first.
